ABOUT ME
I am a qualified counsellor, holding a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling, which is validated by COSCA (Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland).
I am a member of the ITA (Institute of Transactional Analysis), which is an organisation registered with and overseen by the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy).
My practice is supervised according to the ITA Code of Ethics, & I attend regular therapy, training & professional development.
I was born and bred in Northern Ireland. I studied initially at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown, obtaining a BA Honours degree in Humanities. I have lived in Edinburgh for 8 years, and have worked in the field of mental health for over 10 years gaining an extensive range of experience. This includes working with & treating a variety of presenting issues such as:
anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, panic attacks, assertiveness, anger management, relationship difficulties, work-related problems, bereavement, self-harm, eating disorders, sexual identity problems, addictions, personality problems, survivors of trauma, abuse & violence.
I have specialist training & considerable experience in working with & treating anxiety, depression, eating disorders & survivors of trauma, abuse & violence.

SVQ Level 3 in Social Care (2010)
Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling (2010)
I am registered with the ITA (Institute of Transactional Analysis) which is a member of the UKCP ( UK Council for Psychotherapy)
I subscribe to the Code of Ethics of the ITA, UKCP & BACP
I have completed four years of advanced training & professional development with the Counselling & Psychotherapy Training Institute in Edinburgh
I am currently undertaking a part-time MSc in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy, which is validated by the Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh
